Matthew Wang

Matthew Wang is an Asian-American songwriter, producer, and film composer. He is the composer of documentary Famous: Yo Yo Honey Singh which debuted on the Netflix Global Top 10 and he is the co-composer alongside Craig Wedren of Reno 911! It’s a Wonderful Heist and Reno 911! The Hunt For Qanon, the latter of which was nominated for an EMMY for Outstanding Television Movie.

Film Composer

Matthew Wang is a Hollywood Music In Media Award-winning Asian American film and television composer who blends natural organic soundscapes with live instruments and electronic textures, creating atmospheres unique to each project.

Born and raised in New York City, Matthew graduated from the NYU Tisch Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music in 2018. Since then, he has written music for shows including New Amsterdam (NBC), Shrill (HULU), Mrs. Fletcher (HBO), Yellowjackets (Showtime), and Glow (Netflix). Additionally, Matthew has composed music for the Pharrell Williams Executive Produced Netflix Original Kids Show, Brainchild, as well as sonic wellness app Spiritunes.

Matthew composed the music for Joseph Juhn's acclaimed documentary, Jeronimo, which tells the little-known story of the Korean diaspora community in Cuba, and particularly an unsung hero, Jeronimo Lim. The film had a theatrical release in Korea in 2019. He also co-composed IFC Midnight feature thriller Centigrade with Trey Toy and co-composed RENO 911: The Hunt for QANON with Craig Wedren. He also composed the score and wrote an original song for Shaquille O'Neal executive-produced animated short film, Headnoise.
